“Our maze centers on Manhattan Island and leads guests on a quest to discover curious facts and bits of history about New York, our nation’s largest city,” said Pete Barton, the official Maze Master at Barton Orchards. “People soon discover it’s never been so much fun to ‘get lost’!”
Because the maze is a puzzle bigger than any one person, teamwork is a hallmark of solving these gigantic puzzles. Each year thousands of families, scouts, students, and church youth groups challenge a Maize Quest maze. They divide into teams of 4-6 people and work together to complete the maze-based scavenger hunt.
To make sure everyone finds the way out, maze patrons can wave for help with the use of a signal flag given to them at the entrance. Staff members are available inside the maze to give hints to the frustrated. Barton Orchards’ Maize Quest provides outdoor adventure in a safe environment.
After completing the maze, guests can make other memories together at Barton Orchards. Groups can enjoy panning for gemstones in an authentic mining sluice right on the property. Bags of mining dirt are available for sale for $5 a small bag or $7 for a large bag.
Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for children
4-12, and free to those 3 and under. Groups may schedule special events
