Hands on educational program that
features an informative presentation about the growing season,
describing the different stages of growth of the fruit and the impacts
the environment has on them. The positive steps the farm takes to bring
the crops to harvest. A brief talk about the good bugs and the bad bugs
that help or hurt production.
The choice of both fruits or just
one.
Each child will pick a bag of apples
from small trees easy to reach and a pumpkin from the field it grew in.
The pumpkin averages 3-5 pounds; great for school projects. We are now
featuring “Spookley the Square Pumpkin” as part of our educational
presentation. A walk through one of our corn mazes featuring towering
corn stalks followed by a tractor pulled hay ride through the main
fields up past our 210 year old white oak with a friendly face
eventually going into our main corn maze under two bridges ending by our
petting zoo. Each child will receive one of our famous cider donuts
with a cup of cider as a snack. The play area and the petting zoo are
additional entertainment. Picnicking during the farm visit is allowed
with seating for 300 children in two separate locations under cover.
The total cost for both fruits is $7.50
per child or $7.00 for one fruit. Teachers and adults accompanying are
not charged and do not receive the fruits or snack. Apple bags are
offered to adults at a reduced price after the presentation about apple
production.
All children will receive a hayride
along with teachers and support staff. The farm reserves the right to
limit the amount of parents on the hayride.
